WHAT WE BELIEVE

AS A CHURCH, WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD—
MANIFESTED IN THREE PERSONS OF ONE ESSENTIAL NATURE:

THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.

We believe the Father is the source of all that exists, seen and unseen.

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose from the dead. We believe He ascended to heaven and will return again to judge the living and the dead—offering eternal life in the presence of God to those who put their faith and trust in Him.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son. He is the administrator of grace and wisdom.

OUR CHURCH IS BIBLICAL.

The Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God and with all its authority we base our faith and conduct. We believe that there is no other ground for salvation but the death of Jesus on the cross. We are adopted in the family of God when we repent from our sins and believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Good works are the fruit of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us when we pursue and harbor a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We encourage water baptism as a public declaration of one’s faith.

Finally, we believe that the Christian Church is the entire body of believers, who believe in God, our Founder and Head.

OUR PASTORS

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

OUR CHURCH

Before “The Living Bread Ministries” was officially established, it humbly began as a home Bible study group in Long Beach, California in the late 1980’s. Led by our founding pastor, Ganny Eco, and Brother Greg Obrique, the group gathered weekly in their homes, growing steadily in size through family and community involvement.

In 1989, Pastor Ganny affiliated the Bible study group with Calvary Chapel South Bay. From that time until 1992, the group held Sunday afternoon worship services in a smaller sanctuary, later transitioning to the main sanctuary as attendance grew through word of mouth. In August 1993, “The Living Bread Ministries” was officially established. Following a shift in affiliation with Calvary Chapel, Sunday services were moved to the Radisson Hotel in Carson, California. For over 70 weeks, worship services were held at the hotel until the congregation was blessed to acquire its own church building in Carson.

In time, Pastor Ganny felt called to plant a new church, Hope Christian Fellowship, in San Diego, California. On February 5, 1995, Pastor Max Villarin was appointed as Head Pastor of The Living Bread Ministries. Later that year, in September 1995, Pastor Max, alongside the board of elders and the congregation, prayerfully decided to affiliate with the Wesleyan Church. This decision placed the ministry under the guidance and accountability of an established denomination known for its strong commitment to sound teaching, outreach, and leadership. To this day, The Living Bread Ministries is part of the Pacific Southwest District of the Wesleyan Church.

As the congregation in Carson continued to grow, the need for a larger facility became evident. In July 2012, through God’s provision, the ministry purchased its current church building in Harbor City.

By His grace, The Living Bread Ministries remains committed to being a church for the 21st century—culturally relevant, ministering to today’s generation, and proclaiming the timeless gospel message. We strive to help members grow in their love for and commitment to Christ, always seeking to glorify Him in all we do.
